Paul Merson reckons that Arsenal will struggle to cope with Crystal Palace’s attack on Monday and the Premier League match will end in a draw.

  • Crystal Palace recently beat Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge
  • Arsenal have won 2/5 of their last Premier League matches
  • Arsenal beat Palace 2-0 at the Emirates on New Year’s Day
  • Palace currently have 12 injuries

Merson reckons that just as the Gunners won’t be able to handle Palace’s attack, the Eagles won’t be able to handle Arsenal’s.

“This could be a thriller,” the former Gunner said.

“I don’t think Arsenal’s defence will be able to cope with Palace’s attack, and vice versa.

“Both sides will want to win because a draw isn’t ideal for either team.

“Sam Allardyce will know how to cause Arsenal problems and I think it will end up being a draw.

“If results go against them this weekend then it looks like the top four will be done.”

Despite sitting down in 16th, Palace have enjoyed some decent results lately, including a 2-1 win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

They’ve won four out of their last five Premier League games and considering Arsenal haven’t been in the best form as of late, the Eagles must definitely fancy their chances at Selhurst Park on Monday night.

However, Palace have been struck by injuries with 12 of their players now missing from the squad, while Arsenal have ‘just’ six sidelined.
