On 13 April 2009, Kolo Toure demanded a transfer following a falling out with Arsenal teammate at the time, William Gallas.

Toure signed for Arsenal in 2002 from ASEC Mimosas for just £150,000 after successfully completing his trial and obtaining a work permit.

In his seven years at Arsenal, the centreback made 225 league appearances and scored nine goals.

However, it wasn’t all rosy, as in 2009 he fell out with defensive partner Gallas and asked for a transfer, which chairman Peter Hill-Wood denied.

Toure would eventually sign for Manchester City in July for £13.85m, earning Arsenal a massive profit.

Gallas left Arsenal for Spurs a year later.

Once in Manchester, Toure made 82 league performances but after four years had been pushed to the fringes of the City team and eventually signed for Liverpool on a free in 2013.

The 36-year-old now plays for Scottish Premier League club Celtic.

He also earned 120 caps for the Ivory Coast and scored seven goals during his career.
