With the 2016/17 campaign nearing completion across Europe’s top leagues, minutes for Arsenal’s players out on-loan were scarce this weekend.

ENGLAND

Chuba Akpom was an unused substitute as Brighton lost 1-0 against Bristol City. The striker has only made one start under Chris Hughton since the loan switch was confirmed in January, with two cameos against Wigan and Norwich this month.

Krystian Bielik was once again an unused substitute as Birmingham won 2-0 against Huddersfield Town. He was establishing himself as a starter under Gianfranco Zola until the Italian was replaced by Harry Redknapp.

Marc Bola wasn’t involved during Notts County’s 1-0 win over Blackpool.

Kaylen Hinds was also not involved as Stevenage drew 1-1 away against Yeovil Town.

SCOTLAND

Celtic humiliated Rangers in a 5-1 thrashing away from home on Saturday, but midfielder Jon Toral did not feature once again in Pedro Caixinha’s matchday squad.

NETHERLANDS

Kelechi Nwakali didn’t feature as MVV Maastricht lost 3-1 against FC Volendam. Aaron Eyoma, on-loan at the hosts, is still to make his first senior appearance for the club.

Gedion Zelalem started as part of a midfield trio but only played the first-half as VVV-Venlo were defeated 4-1 by Ajax II. It was the 20-year-old’s first starting opportunity since signing on loan in January and he’ll be hoping for further chances to impress with two league matches remaining.

FRANCE

Ismael Bennacer started and completed the full 90 minutes as Tours were 3-0 winners over Clermont Foot. He also created an assist in stoppage time for Denis Bouanga to complete his brace.

GERMANY

Takuma Asano started and completed the first-half during VfB Stuttgart’s 3-2 win over Nürnberg. His overall performance was an underwhelming one, hence why Hannes Wolf opted to replace him at the interval.

Asano’s individual match statistics (per WhoScored):

– 75% pass accuracy, one key pass and 26 touches
– Fouled once, two fouls committed, no completed dribbles, seven unsuccessful touches
