Legendary Manchester United player, Bryan Robson, while speaking to Sport Witness in Sao Paolo, picked out Alexis Sanchez when asked who should be wearing THE No. 7 shirt at Manchester United next season, and by doing so added fuel to rumours of the Chilean joining them in the summer.

“I know that Sanchez seems to be a bit unsettled at Arsenal. He wears number seven at Arsenal. I wouldn’t mind seeing Sanchez come in wearing the number seven for Manchester United,” Robson said.

With the United current squad lacking the kind of player that has worn the No. 7 in the past, such as Best, Cantona, Beckham, Ronaldo and Robson himself, Jose Mourihno could well be pursuing the idea of bringing Alexis Sanchez to Old Trafford.

Sanchez certainly has enough quality to play in any team, and with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford struggling to find form this season on the left wing, Manchester United are almost certain to look for a high quality left winger this summer

With Chelsea already in pursuit of Sanchez, there are also reports from El Show de Prensafutbol that are claiming Jose Mourinho has already made contact with Alexis Sanchez but so has Pep Guardiola, and there is a rumour that PSG and Juventus are also in the mix to sign Chilean star.

With his contract expiring next summer, Alexis Sanchez will be in high demand during the next transfer window.

If the situation regarding his contract extension doesn’t get resolved soon, there is a high possibility of him leaving to one of our rivals with Chelsea currently leading the pack and Manchester United not far behind.

Wenger may think Alexis wants to stay, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t also want to leave in the near future. Without a new deal, he can have his pick of clubs next summer and Arsenal can do nothing about it.
