Hector Bellerin claims that the atmosphere in the Arsenal dressing room is ‘great’ at the moment and they want to keep this going with a win at White Hart Lane.

  • Spurs v Arsenal kicks off at 4:30pm on Sunday 30 April
  • Tottenham 4 points off top of table
  • Bellerin says mood in dressing room is positive

Speaking ahead of the North London Derby, Bellerin revealed that the mood in the Arsenal dressing room is positive at the moment following two wins.

The players were already on a high after their unexpected victory over Manchester City at Wembley, which saw them go through to the final against Chelsea, and they knew they had to beat Leicester to keep the good mood going.

“There was good energy and good spirit and we’ve just got to keep it going into the weekend now,” the right-back said.

“It’s really important to get to those games with a good spirit and good mood in the dressing room and after these two last results, the team is in a great one and we’ve just got to keep it going.

“It was really important for us to get the win. The spirits were really high after the weekend, so we knew that we had to keep it up.

“Leicester is always tough. They’re a team that defend really well, so it’s always very hard to crack them.

“We had to wait until the last 10 minutes to do it but I think the team deserved the win. We had the most of the game.”

Spurs this season, as much as I hate to say it, are a different animal to Leicester and even City. They’re second in the league, four points off first. They’re not just Arsenal’s north London rivals, they’re title contenders and, if they’re switched on on Sunday, could tear the Gunners apart.

Hopefully, this new found positivity from the Arsenal lads will carry them through.
