Barcelona are reportedly unprepared to meet Hector Bellerin’s £34m asking price.

  • Bellerin contracted with Arsenal until 2023
  • Barcelona keen, have prioritised signing of right-back in summer
  • Unlikely to meet £34m asking price

Bellerin only signed a new Arsenal contract at the end of last year, which takes him up to 2023, but Barcelona have reportedly been keeping their beady eyes on him this season.

With Alex Vidal under-performing and Sergi Roberto having to pick up most of the slack, the La Liga club have apparently prioritised signing a right-back in the summer, with Djibril Sidibe and Joao Cancelo also on their radar, as well as Bellerin.

Although Bellerin hasn’t been half the player he was since returning from injury in January, he’s still one of Arsenal’s regular starters and it would be a bizarre move for the Gunners if they were to sell him now.

According to Marca [via Metro] this isn’t likely to happen due to Arsenal demanding £34m for the 22-year-old, which puts Barca off.

They obviously don’t want his ‘Barca DNA’ that much then, do they?
