Just when you thought it couldn’t get any more embarrassing being an Arsenal fan this season, it turns out that Donald Trump’s son, Barron, is a Gooner.

  • Barron is 11
  • Pictured during 139th Easter Egg Roll in full Arsenal kit
  • Said to be knowledgeable about football

The 11-year-old was pictured roaming around on the White House lawn in a full Arsenal kit, casually kicking a ball about, probably with more accuracy than the majority of the actual players this season.

The photo was snapped during the 139th Easter Egg Roll put on by first lady, Melania Trump.

Several of the DC United players were there, with forward Patrick Mullins claiming that young Barron is pretty clued up about football, which doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense if he’s only 11 and openly supporting Arsenal.

“He was very knowledgeable about soccer, knew about DC United and was interested to know more,” Mullins told the Washington Post.

As you can imagine, Arsenal fans (and others) of the internet were rather perturbed by the controversial President’s son being pictured wearing the full kit of the team they support. Some were amused – mostly fans of the opposition – while some didn’t really care as Barron is just a child, after all.

All I’ll say is, Arsenal’s majority shareholder, Stan Kroenke, donated $1m to Trump’s inauguration fund. This news and the picture of Barron have emerged at the same time.
