Apparently, Arsenal’s board have come to a decision regarding Arsene Wenger’s future.

  • Wenger’s current deal runs out at the end of the season
  • Board going ‘allow’ manager to sign two-year extension

According to fresh reports, the Arsenal board have decided to allow Wenger to sign the two-year contract extension, which most people knew was already on the table anyway. As far as we were concerned, it was always down to Wenger to decide whether he wanted to stay at Arsenal or go and he already confirmed he’d come to a decision after the West Brom game.

Therefore, there doesn’t appear to be anything new here.

Still, the report comes from the Mirror, who may or may not be Ivan Gazidis’ mouthpiece in this instance. The outlet has been claiming that the two-year deal is there for the taking for a while, so the fact that they’ve now said the board has decided to let Wenger have it isn’t exactly news but is pretty likely.

The club probably won’t announce the deal until the end of the season.
