Alexis: If I’m playing, I’m happy, wherever that might be

Alexis Sanchez claims that as long as he’s playing football, he’s happy.

  • Alexis was at Udinese between 2006 – 2011
  • He made 95 league appearances and scored 20 goals
  • Alexis moved to Barcelona in 2011
  • While at Udinese, Alexis went out on loan to Colo-Colo and Riverplate

The Chilean recently spoke with Arsenal’s official YouTube channel about his time at Udinese, where he played before Barcelona.

“I wasn’t nervous,” he said.

“As long as I’m playing football, I’m happy – wherever that might be.

“When I moved to Italy, I was the happiest man in the world. I felt like a child. Playing football is what makes me happy.

“I wasn’t interested in money or anything else. All I wanted to do was play football so I could be happy.”

Alexis was just a teenager when he joined Udinese from Cobreloa, his boyhood club in Chile. Therefore, moving to Serie A was a huge step and although he didn’t have the career he probably wanted when he eventually signed for Barcelona, he’s now developed into a world class forward.
