Jack Wilshere started on the bench for Bournemouth on Saturday as it was revealed that the club are having to manage him once again.

Wilshere was hit hard against Manchester City, picking up a problem that he seemed to recovery remarkably quickly from.

Since that game, however, he has played just 71 minutes from the 270 available. He got five minutes against West Ham, was an unused sub against United and played 66 minutes against West Brom.

Until the injury against Manchester City in mid-February, Wilshere had started and played the full 90 in eight of Bournemouth’s previous nine Premier League games.

Wilshere, despite only playing a few minutes against the Hammers on Saturday, was hailed by Eddie Howe as ‘pivotal’ to the move which saw Josh King complete his first Premier League hattrick as he scored the winner for the Cherries.
