Jack Wilshere was heavily praised by Bournemouth manager, Eddie Howe, for his reaction to being dropped at the weekend and his impact when he came on.

Wilshere was back on the bench as concerns over his fitness bubble to the surface again, but Howe said the move was tactical, mentioning nothing about the Englishman’s fragile ankles.

Wilshere was a late introduction and he helped carve open West Ham to allow Bournemouth to seal all three points late in the game.

“Jack is the ultimate professional,” Howe said. “We have had to change a couple of things and gone with two strikers but he has shown with his attitude when he has come on how he has reacted.

“He was the game-changer for us. We needed some inspiration and his role in the winning goal was different class.”

Wilshere was recently speaking about his future, admitting that he won’t make a decision until the end of the season as he concentrates on saving Bournemouth from the drop.

The Cherries are currently six points above the drop zone thanks to that 3-2 win over the Hammers at the weekend.
