Arsene Wenger claims that the recent reports saying that Alexis Sanchez was dropped for the Liverpool game due to a training ground bust-up are completely false.

Wenger met with the press on Monday afternoon ahead of Arsenal’s Champions League game against Bayern Munich and was asked about the alleged incident, which apparently saw Alexis storm off during a training session.

The boss claimed that “nothing happened” and even had a dig at the press for having to fill their papers with nonsense, saying, “It is completely false. If you don’t win the game it isn’t always down to weird stories.

Adding, “But I understand that you have to fill the newspapers.”

Of course, if a training ground spat had occurred, it’s doubtful that Wenger would admit as such. He did acknowledge that sometimes Alexis’ “behaviour could be excessive” but insisted that he and the Chilean have an “honest and normal” relationship.

After Alexis was dropped against Liverpool, Wenger admitted that he doesn’t know whether he’ll start against Bayern.
