A few of the papers couldn’t wait to use a ‘WENGER OUT’ headline on their back pages after Arsenal crashed out of Europe in the last 16 for the seventh season in a row.

Although the evening was going well until the farcical penalty and red card which prompted Arsenal to collapse again, the tie was never salvageable. Our pride was, however, and Arsenal were going some way to doing that before the officials stepped in.

Of course, questions do now have to be asked – why do Arsenal not play like they did in the first half more often and why do they fall apart when Laurent Koscielny is removed from the pitch? We’ll address these over the next few days, but for now, here’s how the papers treated the latest shaming:
