Thomas Tuchel has said that the rumours linking him to Arsenal are ‘of no interest’ to him as he concentrates on Borussia Dortmund.

The German has been linked heavily with Arsenal over recent months. This week it was claimed that Arsenal had been in touch with him, but the club quickly denied this. Now, with Tuchel’s denial, I think we can put this rumour to bed.

“I can’t give you any information about the topic because it doesn’t involve me,” Metro report him as saying, although they do not say where they got the quotes from..

“I’m happy with my job in Dortmund and have a contract, so it is of no interest to me.”

Tuchel is under contract with the Bundesliga side until 2018.

Popping on my conspiracy hat for a moment, it’s not at all crazy to think that Arsenal HAVE approached Tuchel about taking over from Wenger AFTER the end of this new deal he is about to sign.

It would make sense to sound him out about his long-term plans and ambitions ahead of time. Picking him up next summer would also mean no compensation would be required from Arsenal to Dortmund.

It’s a theory.

But then, that’s all we really have right now.
