It feels like such a long time since this Arsenal side have actually put in a convincing performance against Premier League opposition.

Despite flashes of Alexis Sanchez’s usual brilliance and Granit Xhaka keeping a firm grip on the midfield for the first half, everyone was terrible against West Brom.

Petr Cech – 3

The goalkeeper was subbed off in the 38th minute. Although Arsenal conceded while he was between the sticks, that had more to do with the Gunners’ defending that Cech. Although the 34-year-old could have done better.

Hector Bellerin – 3

What happened to Hector? He’s not been fantastic lately and against the Baggies he was terrible.

Shkodran Mustafi – 3

The German’s positioning was poor. Arsenal’s defending, especially in the second half, was completely shambolic.

Laurent Koscielny – 4

Despite being marginally more professional, even Kos couldn’t save the day this time. He won 2/2 tackles, two interceptions, six clearances, zero blocks and won just 3/8 aerial duels, which is unlike him.

Nacho Monreal – 3

Nacho hasn’t been himself this season and with performances like his against West Brom, you have to feel his time at Arsenal is limited. He won just one tackle out of the two he attempted, made three interceptions and zero blocks.

Granit Xhaka – 5

In the first half, Xhaka got an assist and overall completed by far the most passes out of everyone on the pitch: 117/129. The midfielder also won 4/4 aerial duels, which was an area the majority of Arsenal players struggled in.

Aaron Ramsey – 4

Despite completing the second-most passes out of anyone else on the pitch (79/90), Rambo was pretty useless against West Brom. He only completed 22/31 of these passes in the final third and didn’t offer much going forward. The Wales international looks lacking in confidence and it’s hard to say when he’ll get that back.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 4.5

Despite not having a huge impact on the game, Ox won the most take-ons (4/6) and also won 2/2 tackles. He needs to work on his presence in the air as he only attempted one header, which was unsuccessful.

Theo Walcott – 3

Poor Theo. Fresh off the back of the news that he hadn’t been included in the England squad despite scoring 17 goals in all competitions for Arsenal this season, the forward gave a forgettable performance against West Brom. He completed just 14/18 passes; 8/10 in the final third and was anonymous for most of the match.

Danny Welbeck – 4

It wasn’t Danny’s day. Although he hit the post in the second half, the forward struggled to make any impact on the game.

Alexis Sanchez – 5

The Chilean had two shots, one of which found the net, and until he was taken off was probably the most likely player to score. What else is new?

Subs

David Ospina – 1

The goalkeeper more or less gifted the Baggies their second goal after he passed the ball out to Hal Robson-Kanu. It’s worrying that the Colombian is anywhere near the first team let alone reckons he should be chosen over Cech.

Olivier Giroud – 1

In the 25 minutes the striker was on the pitch, he only managed to completed 4/6 passes – less than Petr Cech and David Ospina.

Alex Iwobi – N/A

Despite coming on in the 78th minute, the forward managed to complete 12/13 passes.
