Arsenal and Tottenham have both been linked with Sampdoria striker, Patrik Schick, but who is he?

  • Schick’s contract with Sampdoria runs until 2020
  • Schick has 3 caps for the Czech Republic
  • Schick started his career at Sparta Prague
  • Schick’s agent recently denied claims of a meeting between himself, Spurs and Arsenal

The 21-year-old striker has scored seven goals and assisted three for Sampdoria in Serie A this season. He’s also played a total of 149 minutes over three appearances in Coppa Italia, in which which he’s scored twice. However, he’s only made six starts.

After rising through the ranks at Sparta Prague between 2013-14, 6ft 2in Schick made his senior debut on 3 May 2014 against Teplice. Sparta lost 3-1.

The following season, he was loaned out to Bohemians Praha 1905, where he made 27 league appearances and scored eight goals.

In 2016, he moved to Italy to join Sampdoria for £3.5m.

Schick has represented the Czech republic from an under-16 level and has been capped three times for the senior team, scoring one goal against Malta in an international friendly.

The youngster reportedly has a £21m release clause but Spurs are apparently only willing to shell out £17m.

Everton, West Brom and Inter have also been linked.
