Mesut Ozil has not not been ruled out of Arsenal’s game against Liverpool despite reports on Friday evening that the German had not travelled north with the squad, at least according to the Daily mail.

Goal.com reported that Ozil would miss out and that he had stayed in London, however the Daily Mail state that Ozil HAS travelled with Arsenal. Wenger is expected to make a late call on his inclusion according to Sam Mokbel.

Mesut Ozil has not travelled with the Arsenal squad to Liverpool ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash at Anfield as the German international is suffering from flu, Goal understands.

ARSENE WENGER will make a late decision on Mesut Ozil’s availability for Arsenal’s game at Liverpool this evening. The playmaker has been struggling with illness after being sent home from training on Wednesday, but Sportsmail understands Ozil travelled with the squad to Merseyside yesterday.

Arsene Wenger said Ozil ‘should be’ ok to play when he spoke with the press on Thursday. This is the second time the same illness has caused Ozil problems in the last few months.

Wenger also confirmed that Danny Welbeck is finally in contention to start. “He’s in contention,” Wenger told reporters. “Yes [we’ve been careful] because he had ups and downs with his response to his knee problem. I followed the advice of our medical staff.”
