Scans revealed he sustained a torn hamstring and will be sidelined for a period between 14 and 16 weeks as surgery is required. Still only 18, updates about Mavididi’s condition were met with disappointment from club supporters and reiterated the impression he made with the League One side.

Having netted eight goals at youth level this term, a loan move seemed likely with many interested clubs across England watching his progress. Given his ability to create and convert goalscoring chances, it’s unsurprising that he started well at Charlton.

Despite returning to Arsenal, Robinson publicly praised Stephy and has already stressed his eagerness to sign him on a similar deal next season.
