Liverpool star, Philippe Coutinho, plans to bounce back against Arsenal at the weekend, although Jurgen Klopp seems unsure about striker Daniel Sturridge’s future at the club.

The only fans (probably) more disgruntled with their team’s performances this season than Gooners belong to Liverpool.

The Merseyside team have been startlingly inconsistent, beating Spurs 2-0 before losing 3-1 away to relegation-fighting Leicester.

They were knocked out of the FA Cup by Wolves, the League Cup by Southampton, and have dropped to fifth in the Premiership despite starting off as title contenders.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s clash against Arsenal, Coutinho said, “We are disappointed because we wanted to win to get points for the fight for top four. It was not possible. We look to Arsenal.

“We are in the race. Every game is important [and] we have to start winning.”

What’s more is that Liverpool could be losing Daniel Sturridge in the summer. The 27-year-old’s contract with the club runs out in 2019 and since he’s only made five Premier League starts this term, it’s looks as if he could move to a club that can offer him more regular playing time.

“I have no idea what happens in the summer. It is not only Daniel but a lot of players,” Klopp admitted.

“Daniel was not in training for eight or nine days because of a virus infection. We have to bring him back to the best shape possible and then bring this season to an end as successfully as possible.

“Then we will make decisions and speak about Daniel and any other players about what will happen at the end of the season.

“A lot of things will influence this and we can speak about it when it is time.”

Arsenal travel to Anfield on 4 March hoping to get revenge for their 4-3 defeat at the Emirates on the opening day of the season. Considering neither team are exactly playing like world-beaters at the moment, it could be interesting.

Or depressing. Just really, really depressing.
