Joel Campbell is facing a fine over his behaviour according to reports from Portugal.

The Arsenal man has struggled this season on loan with Sporting CP. What initially seemed like a promising move back at the start of the season is now nothing more than a player killing time until he decides his next destination in the summer. And that won’t be back with Sporting who have no interest in signing him permanently, or even on loan again.

On the bench again this weekend (although he is coming back from an adductor injury), Campbell got just six minutes at the end of the game when they were already 4-1 up.

Joel managed to get himself booked within three minutes of coming on then, with time running out, Sporting were awarded a penalty. Joel grabbed the ball but the manager ordered Bas Dost, who had scored a hattrick, to take the spotkick. He, of course, missed, and Joel wasn’t best pleased about the whole thing.

Paying no attention to the away fans at the end of the game, Campbell headed straight own the tunnel and reports on Monday claimed that he was facing a telling off and possibly even a fine.
