Just as Arsenal appear to be getting players back from injury, they lose more.

Looking ahead to Arsenal’s trip to Anfield on Saturday, we see at who’s in and who’s out. It’d be nice to get a win after they beat us 4-3 at the Emirates on the opening day of the season so having the option of fielding a strong team would be brilliant.

Santi Cazorla (ankle)

The little Spaniard confirmed that he’s undergone another procedure, this time to close a wound on his ankle, with reports circulating that we won’t see the midfielder play for Arsenal again this season.

It’s a shame but we can’t force him to recover quicker than he already is.

Mohamed Elneny (calf)

The Egypt international’s calf, which had been troubling him towards the end of the Africa Cup of Nations, finally gave out during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Sutton.

Elneny has since been pictured (and filmed) in a protective boot.

Although there have been reports that he could be out for three weeks, these have not been confirmed.

Alex Iwobi (foot)

Although the forward shared a worrying picture of what appeared to be his foot/ankle bandaged up following the Sutton game, Iwobi later claimed he was fine via his personal Snapchat.

Therefore, it looks like he’s available for the Liverpool match.

Stephy Mavididi (hamstring)

The young forward, who was on loan at Charlton, was stretchered off in the 90th minute of his temporary team’s 1-0 loss at home to Bury.

Charlton boss, Karl Robinson, admitted that Mavididi, who was “in tears“, will probably be out for 14-16 weeks and will be having surgery.

Although he’s not a first team player, it’s awful to see someone so young – just 18 – suffer what could be a career-defining injury.

We wish him all the best in his recovery.

Laurent Koscielny (hamstring)

Koscielny was back in training after suffering a hamstring injury against Bayern Munich.

Aaron Ramsey (calf)

Rambo is back in training following his calf strain against Watford.

Mesut Ozil (illness)

According to Chris Wheatley from Goal, Ozil was sent home ill from training by club doctors on Wednesday.

This is a little concerning since this means he could miss out on the trip to Anfield on Saturday, plus he had the flu over Christmas and still hadn’t returned to his best since. Hopefully another illness doesn’t push him back further.

We wish Ozil a speedy recovery.
