Arsene Wenger revealed that Olivier Giroud was limping around so much against Liverpool because he received a couple of kicks to his thigh, before and during the game.

The Frenchman, a surprise starter ahead of Alexis, looked like he might have to come off in the first half of his 7th league start of the season.

But a lot of stretching and bouncing seemed to help him and he managed to stay on the pitch until the 73rd minute when he was taken off and nobody really noticed.

Speaking to the press after the game, Wenger was asked if Giroud had a problem. Wenger replied, “Yeah, he had some painkillers because he got a kick on his thigh in training and he got kicked again today.” [cont below]

There’s no reason to think that Giroud will not be fit for Bayern Munich but he’ll be back on the bench on Tuesday anyway where he can rest. At this rate, that game will be watched by around five people. And maybe a dog or two.
