Arsenal Wenger called reports that Boro Primorac was set to leave the club for Turkey ‘fake news’ when he met the press on Thursday morning.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s trip to West Brom at the weekend, the boss was asked his thoughts on the stories surrounding Boro. “That’s a complete invention. It’s good today. You say anything and everybody takes it without checking any information. Everybody just takes and takes it and makes a subject. It’s not serious. Fake news!”

The reports, when they started had people speculating wildly about what it could possibly mean in terms of Arsene Wenger’s future.

It didn’t mean anything.

Wenger also dismissed the stories about Hector Bellerin possibly heading to Barcelona. “No. He has just extended his contract. It’s an unbelievable amount of years to go. I believe again it’s very difficult to take these things seriously.”

The manager also refused to engage in questions about his future, at one point saying, “I have nothing to say about that anymore. Every press conference is about that.”

As we looked at in length here, we really need to start taking the focus off Wenger.
