A few more Arsenal loanees clubs were in action on Wednesday night.

Here is a round-up of all the action, with a Calum Chambers update at the bottom.

Stephy Mavididi

Stephy has returned from Charlton Athletic to begin his recovery from the hamstring injury that ended his season. He is expected to undergo surgery any day now.

Jon Toral

Toral started for Rangers as they got back to winning ways with a 3-2 win at Ibrox against St. Johnstone.

The Spaniard had come in for very heavy criticism during his last outing for the Scottish side, and he started this game nervously. His initial problems last night could have something to do with him being an attacking midfielder playing as a defensive one:

Reaction on social media to his performance was mixed with some saying he played well and others tearing into him. This is generally an indication that he had an average game with those who’ve already taken a dislike to him criticising and those who see no wrong in their players judging it differently.

He was subbed off after 82 minutes as he continues to build up his match fitness.

Wojciech Szczesny

Woj was not involved as Roma lost, 2-0 at Lazio in the first leg of the Coppa Italia Rome derby semi-final. Szczesny has not featured for Roma in any of the cup competitions, including the Champions League, apart from one game in the qualifiers.

Star performance – Matt Macey

Matt Macey excelled for Luton and was voted Man of the Match despite conceding three as his side lost 3-2 at home to Oxford United.

Going two goals down, Luton fought back to level with just seven minutes left in an entertaining game that was shown live on Sky Sports. But Marvin Johnson shattered any dreams of Wembley that Macey and his teammates were harbouring as he won it for Oxford in the 85th minute.

Oxford will now face Coventry City in the Checkatrade Cup Final.

Calum Chambers

Chambers is out with a foot injury, missing Boro’s game at the weekend. He was rumoured to have been spotted “hobbling down Oxford street with a [sic] air boot on,” although at this point, this is an unconfirmed sighing.

Chambers picked up a stress fracture in his foot recently but was back playing just one week later. Did that make things worse? It would seem a good bet at this point, but is nothing more than speculation
