Arsenal reportedly recently scouted Benfica youngster, Joao Carvalho.

The 19-year-old Benfica B midfielder is currently on loan with fellow Liga Nos side, Vitória de Setúbal, and in a rumour that appears to have originated from the Evening Standard, Arsenal, Manchester United and Spurs have all been scouting him.

The Portuguese youth international has just broken into the first team and played 79 minutes against Braga on 26 February – the game where all three Premier League teams were said to be in attendance.

Before going out on loan, the talented teenager who turns 20 on 9 March, scored seven goals and assisted three in all competitions (25 appearances) for Benfica’s B team.

Are Arsenal scouting him? If United and Spurs are then I’m sure Arsenal are too. He’s young and talented, and there’s no harm in looking, right? We know that the reserves are always on the look-out for up and coming starlets and considering how highly rated he seems to be, there’s no reason why we wouldn’t be at least slightly interested.
