Arsenal have reportedly been scouting Eibar centreback Florian Lejeune.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, the Gunners are very interested in bringing the 25-year-old to north London and have been keeping an eye on his La Liga performances recently.

Lejeune is currently contracted with Eibar, who are eighth in La Liga at the moment, until 2020, and has made 25 League appearances, scoring a goal and also assisting once.

The defender signed for Manchester City from Segunda club Girona in 2015 for a reported £215,000. However, Arsenal’s title rivals immediately loaned him out to his former club for a year before he signed a four-year deal with Eibar in July 2016 for £1.3m. He never played a single game for City.

According to claims from Marca, Lejeune, who’s also played for Villarreal, would set Arsenal back €10 million (£8.7m).

Although the Parisian-born player represented France at an under-20 level and was capped seven times, he hasn’t played for his country since.
