Arsenal have agreed a trial for 17-year-old wonderkid, Marcelo Allende.

The Chilean midfielder, dubbed by the S*n as the ‘new Alexis Sanchez’ has apparently been on Arsenal’s radar for a while and now we’ve not only offered him a trial, he’s been in training with the first team.

Allende, who even started at Alexis’ first club, Cobreloa, before his agent got him a place at Deportes Santa Cruz, is highly rated and even represented Chile at a youth level at the 2015 Under-17 World Cup, where he captained the side.

If the triallist has been thrown into training with the first team alongside Alexis himself, it stands to reason that we rate him. However, it remains to be seen whether we’ll offer him a more permanent position at the club.

Above: Allende is the guy in the orange.

As with any contract, plenty of issues factor into signing a young player, from what their family wants, their agent’s demands and what the player hopes for, so it’s not necessarily as simple as just watching him and enjoying the way he plays. But who knows? Perhaps we’ll snap him up straight away.
