Arsene Wenger spoke about Alexis Sanchez’s future at Arsenal and what that depends on ahead of the team’s match against Bayern Munich.

The rumour mill has been going into overdrive lately with Alexis’ links with Juventus refusing to go away. What’s more is that Alexis’ future at Arsenal reportedly depends on whether Wenger is staying or going.

Wenger, however, has revealed what we already knew, that the Chilean’s future is down to Arsenal alone.

“Alexis Sanchez has 15 months on his contract, whether he is here next season will depend on Arsenal and no-one else,” the boss said.

This could mean this depends on a couple of things.

Firstly, whether the club are willing to meet his apparent wage demands, and/or secondly, where Arsenal finish in the League. In my mind, the latter is more likely. Alexis wants to see whether the team gets Champions League football next season or not.

Alexis still has 15 months left on his contract and although Wenger has always claimed he would make the forward run it down if he refused to sign a new one, cashing in this summer might be a more sensible option.
