AC Milan are apparently weighing up a move for Lucas Perez as reports continue that the forward is not happy.

I first spotted the story about AC Milan’s interest in the Mirror. They say they got it from Metro but when you check Metro’s piece, they make no mention of AC Milan. No wonder the Mirror didn’t put a journalist’s name to their article. Imagine not even being able to copy a story from Metro without embellishing it.

The Spaniard has seen very little team action this season and nobody seems to understand why. When he has been selected to play, he’s been very effective. Yet he was benched again this weekend – and that was in a game the majority expected him to feature.

Arsene Wenger clearly doesn’t trust him but the reasons are unclear. He did, after all, purchase him. Or did he? Was he a signing done from above as Ivan Gazidis realised the fans were going mental and we still hadn’t managed to buy a striker? We’ll probably never know.

Whatever the reason, nobody would begrudge Lucas feeling unhappy. While his agent has already said that the player is, actually, happy to stay at Arsenal and fight for his place, with a World Cup on the horizon and his advancing years, it wouldn’t take much to see his head turned.
