Arsenal are once again underachieving in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League this year.

Something is clearly not working with the team because they are too talented to consistently disappoint their fans every year.

These are the five changes that Arsenal needs to make before their next game.

Fire Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger is one of the most accomplished managers in the sport, but he has overstayed his welcome at Arsenal. Wenger has managed the team for more than 1,100 games, and he is starting to get complacent with his decision despite not getting the desired results. Refusing to make lineup changes and failing to inspire his players are the two biggest faults of Arsene Wenger right now. He will likely be let go at the end of the season, but Arsenal might as well start the new managerial hunt early.

Make Olivier Giroud a permanent starter

Olivier Giroud may have had his issues when he started with Arsenal, but those days are long behind him. Giroud has blossomed into a mature player that will do anything needed to help his club win games. Despite being an extremely reliable scorer, Giroud is rarely in the starting lineup. Playing your best players seems to be a good idea for a struggling team, but Arsenal continues to misuse Olivier Giroud. Giving him a permanent spot in the starting lineup should create a more dynamic offensive attack.

Add Danny Welbeck to lineup

Arsenal has depth in the striker position that most teams can only dream of having, but this depth is constantly wasted by only starting one or two forwards. Theo Walcott is once again struggling to score goals, but the club has only let Danny Welbeck play in four games this year. Starting Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck at forward will let Arsenal get the most out of their depth.

Bench Petr Cech

Petr Cech used to be one of the best goalies in the world, but that is no longer the case. While Cech has done a solid job with Arsenal this season, he is clearly nearing the end of his career. If Arsenal wants to compete in the near future, then they need to find a younger goaltender. Emiliano Martinez is supposed to be the goaltender of the future for Arsenal, so they might as well start giving him some playing time. The young Argentinian has all of the tools to succeed in the EPL, but it is impossible to properly evaluate his talent without seeing him in a real game.

Give Mesut Ozil More Responsibility

Mesut Ozil is arguably the most talented player on Arsenal, but he is also the most inconsistent. Ozil has a tendency to get lazy when he is not controlling the ball, but there is an easy solution to this problem. If Arsenal lets Ozil run the entire offense, then he should have the focus and dedication needed to play at a high level every game. Using Ozil as the primary playmaker should also let him create easy goals for the forwards with his beautiful passing skills.
