Arsene Wenger is reportedly making plans for pre-season with many at Arsenal believing he will sign on for another two years according to the Times.

With a two-year deal from the club waiting on him, Wenger said he would make a decision about his future in March or April, but a source at the club has revealed that the manager is involved in booking hotels for Arsenal’s pre-season tour, devising training schedules and discussing travel plans. If a new manager was coming in, you would expect him to want to make his own arrangements for the summer.

With the entire backroom staff likely to change with a new manager, the Times claim that none of them have been given any indication that Wenger will leave in the summer. Knowing Wenger as we do, it’s highly unlikely that he would leave so many people high-and-dry like that and would want to offer them as much time as possible to prepare for their future. Unless they know they’ll go with him wherever he ends up, of course.

The Times also state that “Those working with him daily claim that his manner and attitude are the same as when he was approaching the end of his contract in previous years.”

The decision to take up the options for Per Mertesacker and Santi Cazorla, as well as new deals for Francis Coquelin, Laurent Koscielny, Olivier Giroud and Hector Bellerin would also hint towards Wenger staying.
