Ian Wright caused something of a commotion this weekend after he revealed Arsenal Wenger told him he was ‘coming to the end’.

Many in the media took this to mean Wenger had confirmed he was going to quit, but as we addressed earlier this morning, most of this was based on Wrighty’s ‘feelings’ rather than anything tangible.

So, it was no surprise that Wenger was asked about it when the press got a chance.

“I don’t know what Ian said”, Wenger replied after his side’s win over Hull on Saturday.

“I gave a question and answer for the Diamond Club.

“Four or five of us had a little dinner beforehand. But we did not discuss it [my future].

“I appreciate people want me to rest – but I am not ready for that.

“Maybe people say I am tired because I get up early in the morning.”

There is a two-year contract waiting for him to sign. I’ve heard a few say that he normally would have signed by now but he didn’t sign his last three-year deal until May in 2014.
