Sports journalist, Mark Mann-Bryans, understands that, as predicted, Aaron Ramsey will not play a part in Arsenal’s clash against Chelsea on Saturday.

The midfielder was taken off in the 20th minute of Arsenal’s embarrassing 2-1 loss at home to Watford on Tuesday. The injury was later said to be a calf strain, not hamstring injury as was originally thought.

Arsene Wenger admitted post-match that he had no idea how bad it was or how long Rambo would be out, which, if you’re an Arsenal fan, usually means he’s sidelined for the rest of the season. Or at least a few months.

Although Arsenal apparently still don’t know the extent of the calf strain, according to Mann-Bryans, the 26-year-old will definitely not be available to play a part in Saturday’s Premier League clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, which is a shame but hardly shocking.

Ramsey was key to the squad at this time because Granit Xhaka is serving his four-match ban for the red card he picked up against Burnley, Mohamed Elneny is at the Africa Cup of Nations and Santi Cazorla is still out following two ankle surgeries.

This will be Ramsey’s third injury this season.
