Shall we just copy paste the ratings from last season when we lost at the same place with the same result?

The names are slightly different but the result was the same, commonly known as Arsenal in Champions League Round of 16.

After a promising first half, Arsenal remembered they are Arsenal and delivered a Sunday League performance in second half.

David Ospina – 6

After all the unnecessary drama over Dave starting, he went and conceded five goals but none of them were his fault. He made some great saves and showed off his reflexes a few times. He’s alright.

Hector Bellerin – 4.5

Bellerin took some time to get into the match but he was okay. Didn’t do much up front but who did?

Laurent Koscielny  – 6

I can’t say offer enough praise for this man. Amazing tackles in first half that saved us a few times. Solid defensively as always and he won us the penalty. If that isn’t enough to show how important he is, there’s a nice presentation of that after he went off injured. I can only hope it’s not serious. We’d be doomed.

Shkodran Mustafi  – 4

Should talk less – he was busy telling Bellerin where to stand while Bayern were scoring their 4th goal. Got a yellow card and put in a few reckless tackles.

Kieran Gibbs – 4

I used to say he should start but now I miss Nacho. Gibbs didn’t do much and Robben and Lahm enjoyed his presence. The cross for their Lewandowski goal should have been stopped. Really rusty performance from our backup captain. Kieran Gibbs. Captain at the Allianz. Jeez.

Francis Coquelin – 2

I can’t. Five passes the whole match. Served Robben his goal on a platter. Offered nothing but some tackles. I can’t.

Granit Xhaka – 5

Granit did okay but, again, was nothing special. Xhaka-Coquelin doesn’t work and this isn’t the first time we’ve seen that. His shot in first half was straight at keeper when he probably should have done better. Same as Mustafi, he got a yellow card and put in some poor tackles Didn’t do much.

Alex Oxlade Chamberlain  – 6.5

Ox was our best field player and the only one looking like he wanted it or cared (Alexis has that as default setting, don’t count him). He passed well, created chances and fought for the ball. He did, however, also assist Bayern for their 5th goal.

Mesut Özil – 4

Mesut missing again, mostly in second half when everything fell apart. He was looking good at first although you’ll read he was just “standing around, not doing anything”. He made the same number if tackles as Kos and even had two shots but, as soon as wheels started falling off, he was gone too. Shame. I’m worried about what future brings for him and us.

Alex Iwobi – 4

As expected, Iwobi didn’t help Gibbs much when it came to defending so Robben had an easy job. He didn’t do much up front either but I gave him some points for trying and for the fact he’s still a kid and shouldn’t even have started given his recent form.

Alexis Sanchez – 6

Alexis was frustrated again, and who can blame him. He was urging his teammates to press higher but no one listened. He messed up the penalty but somehow managed to squeeze the ball in at the third attempt. Again, he should have done much better on several occasions in attack. Scored our only goal which meant so much at half time but is just a number now.

Gabriel  – 3

Didn’t do anything good after coming on for Koscielny. Do I think Holding would be better backup centreback? Yes.

Theo Walcott – 4

Tried to create something when he came on but it was too little too late.

Olivier Giroud  – 0

Did he even touch the ball?
