Oguzhan Ozyakup has admitted that he saw the ‘real face’ of Robin van Persie on Sunday and he didn’t like what he saw one bit.

The two played together at Arsenal and Ozzie has often praised the Dutchman for how he helped him as a youngster. In fact, Ozyakup also revealed that it was van Persie who advised him to leave Arsenal in order to get regular minutes. Trusting his advice, he left Arsenal in 2012.

Now, after a match between Besiktas and Fenerbahce which saw van Persie knee a player in the midriff and slap him around the head, only for the other player to get sent off, Ozyakup has had enough of him.

After the game, the wife of Dusko Tosic, the player who saw red for reacting to van Persie’s assault on him, tweeted to say:

But that wasn’t all van Persie did during the game.

After scoring with Fener’s first shot of the season against Besiktas, he then celebrated like this in front of his ‘friend’ Ozyakup:

Speaking after the game, Ozyakup reportedly said,

“I have a lot to say about the incidents on the field. But I won’t say them.

“Just one thing – I was very good friends with a certain player on the field.

“That changed today. Sometimes you see the real face of a footballer on the field.”

Indeed Ozzie. Indeed.
