On this day in 2010, Arsenal beat Liverpool 1-0, kick-starting a six-game winning streak.

Arsenal were coming off the back of a 2-0 loss away to Chelsea. However, a 1-0 win at the Emirates against Liverpool was all we needed to get back on the horse.

The only goal of the evening was from Abou Diaby in the 72nd minute but that’s all it took to clinch all three points.

After this, we went on a winning streak in the Premier League, beating Sunderland, Stoke, Burnley, Hull and West Ham. We then drew against Birmingham and beat Wolves but a 1-0 loss to Spurs put an end to our eight-game unbeaten run.

That season, Arsenal finished third in the Premiership, 10 points behind Manchester United in second, while Chelsea won it.

Elsewhere, Stoke knocked us out of the FA Cup fourth round (3-1) and Manchester City knocked us out of the League Cup (3-0).

The Gunners faced Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals and – surprise surprise – lost (6-3 agg.) after we beat Porto 6-2 on aggregate.
