Luis Boa Morte has left his role as one of Arsenal’s scouts to join Sintrense, a club in the third division back in his homeland.
The 39-year-old, who spent two years at the Gunners (1997-1999), retired from professional football back at the start of 2013. He has taken the job with the immediate aim of helping his new side avoiding relegation.
Boa Morte was frequently mentioned in the Portuguese media when spotted at league fixtures, causing speculation over who he might potentially be scouting on Arsenal’s behalf.
Porto’s talented midfield, duo Danilo Pereira and Ruben Neves, were just two examples of players linked with potential moves to Arsenal in previous seasons.
Boa Morte was previously assistant coach with Sporting’s reserve side and managed a handful of games with the youth teams.
