Wojciech Szczesny kept another clean sheet and other players out on-loan across Europe over the past 48 hours.

GERMANY

Takuma Asano started and played 65 minutes during VfB Stuttgart’s 2-1 win over Sandhausen.

Playing alongside captain Christian Gentner in centre midfield, Asano struggled to have much impact on the game going forward.

His individual match statistics (per WhoScored):

– One key pass, one completed dribble
– One tackle, interception and foul committed
– Pass accuracy of 66.7%, third lowest in Stuttgart’s starting eleven

NETHERLANDS

Tafari Moore played the full 90 minutes during Utrecht II’s 4-2 defeat against FC Volendam.

He would’ve been disappointed with his involvement in the visitors’ stoppage-time strike. Having tracked his runner down the flank, he was too tentative when approaching him and allowed him the opportunity to cross into the area where Bert Steltenpool was able to convert from close-range.

SPAIN

Mallorca won their second league match of 2017 and did so without Julio Pleguezuelo. The talented fullback was not involved in the matchday squad. It’s unclear whether this was injury-related or boss Javier Olaizola doesn’t see him in his plans for the squad going forward.

ITALY

Wojciech Szczesny kept his 11th clean sheet of the Serie A campaign during Roma’s 2-0 win over Crotone on Sunday evening. Despite conceding a parried effort from range which was correctly ruled out for offside, he was solid when called upon. Making four saves, his distribution was okay and he completed three attempted long balls too.

SCOTLAND

Jon Toral came on as a second-half substitute during Rangers’ 2-1 win over Morton in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals.

A midfield trio with Emmerson Hyndman, Andy Halliday and Jason Holt was preferred to start. The Spaniard featured for just under 15 minutes, helping consolidate a much-needed victory.

PORTUGAL

Having sustained an adductor injury recently, Joel Campbell was left out of the matchday squad as Sporting were 3-2 winners against Moreirense on Sunday.
