Laurent Koscielny apparently wants Arsene Wenger to stay at Arsenal.

Wenger’s contract runs out at the end of the season with some fans urging him to leave, some wanting him booted out of the club, and some wanting him to stay.

However, while fan unrest may be approaching at all time high following the 5-1 loss to Bayern Munich away in the Champions League and a bunch of unconvincing results in the League, the Arsenal players have always seemed to be on the boss’ side. At least publicly. After all, why wouldn’t they when they’re there because of him?

Hector Bellerin only signed him extension because of Wenger, the Frenchman is the reason Mesut Ozil is even at Arsenal and newbie, Shkodran Mustafi, recently came out in support of the manager staying.

Laurent Koscielny is the latest player to publicly pledge his allegiance to Le Professeur, apparently telling RMC Sport journo, Antoine Wargnier, that he wants the boss to extend his deal.

“I hope it will extend, the group is receptive to his speech.”

“I respect a lot Wenger, I owe him a lot and I hope he will continue.”

The thing is, when asked about Wenger’s future, of course our captain has to come out in support of him. How would it look if he said he should leave? It wouldn’t happen.

I totally believe that Kos does respect Wenger and part of showing that respect means not slating him in public.

On the surface, it seems as if the team are far from ‘receptive’ and, at times this season, it’s look completely the opposite.

Hopefully, come March/April, everyone, including the players, will have a far better idea of where they stand.
