Juventus have reportedly made an enquiry about signing Wojciech Szczesny who has been impressing with Roma this season but the player wants a return to Arsenal.

The Pole, currently on out on loan for a second season, looks to be the answer to Arsenal’s increasing goalkeeping problems. He has developed as a player and matured as a man since leaving for Italy after Petr Cech’s arrival. Now, with the Czech in decline, it would seem logical to bring him back, give him back his number one shirt, and a new contract as his current one expires next summer.

I first picked up the report about Juve’s interest from a site in Italy, and they’d got it from Woj’s homeland.

How true is it?

Well, there’s no doubt that Szczesny will have a lot of admirers when the summer rolls around and Juventus would certainly be an enticing draw for a man who has already adapted to life in the country.

Hopefully it won’t come to that, but the Old Lady must surely be turning their thoughts to replacing an ageing keeper of their own. Still performing brilliantly, Buffon is now 39.

Przegląd Sportowy also claim that Napoli and Borussia Dortmund are interested in Woj. They state that talks with Arsenal will take place in March regarding the player’s future. It’s worth noting that they also highlight that returning to London is the ‘option closest to his heart’.
