Andries Jonker has confirmed that he will bring Freddie Ljungberg, who has also been coaching at Arsenal, with him to Wolfsburg.

At first, it’s easy to get angry at people leaving like this, especially someone we love like Freddie who was recently talking about how much he loved coaching the kids, but let’s take a moment.

Let me just pop on my conspiracy hat and ponder something.

A while ago, I wondered if Jonker was being groomed as Wenger’s successor. It was just a fleeting thought and I can’t even remember what made me think of it in the first place – but there was a concrete reason, even if I’ve forgotten it now.

Jonker has signed an 18-month deal. What if they were to go to Wolfsburg to learn their trade a little more with the pair lined up to replace Wenger when he finally goes?

Given that Wolfsburg only sacked their manager at the weekend, this all seems to have happened rather quickly to be part of some super masterplan.

But in the long run? Who knows…

It’s just a theory. Let me know what you think in the comments above.
