In true Jamie Vardy style, the Leicester City striker, who turned down a move to Arsenal in the summer, accompanied his Champions League goal against Sevilla with a comment about the Gunners.

We recently decided to tot-up the amount of goals that Vardy has scored for the struggling Foxes this season compared to the amount of times he’s brought up Arsenal and while it was close, goals scored (5) just edged the mentions (4).

Well, it’s time to update these stats, people! [insert trumpets]

The England international scored a crucial away goal against Sevilla on Wednesday night to bring the scoreline to 2-1 in the 73rd minute.

It’s the only Champions League goal the 30-year-old has scored this season (or ever, for that matter) but it could prove rather important.

The goal was promptly followed up by him claiming that he has “no regrets whatsoever” about not signing for Arsenal when asked.

Sure you don’t, pal.

After winning the Premier League last season, Leicester are now hovering precariously above the relegation zone by just one point.
