Calum Chambers was not included in the Middlesbrough squad that lost 1-0 at Palace on Saturday as he is out with a foot problem.

The defender, who has been a regular started for Boro has impressed during his loan spell, Aitor Karanka confirmed that the Arsenal man would miss the game at his pre-game press conference. The problem is believed to be a foot injury although he travelled with the squad which indicates it is not a serious problem.

Chambers suffered a stress fracture in his foot back in January which he recovered from very quickly. It’s not clear if this most recent problem is connected to that.

A 34th minute Patrick van Aanholt goal for the Eagles was all that that separated the two sides at Selhurst Park. The win drew Palace level on points with Boro, however Sam Allardyce’s men still sit below them on goal difference (-9 v -13).

They are both just one point above the relegation zone however should Leicester win against Liverpool on Monday night, Palace will move into the drop zone.
