Despite it being reported on 26 January that Calum Chambers had suffered a stress fracture in his foot, it seems the defender is almost fit.

A stress fracture is usually bad news and typically takes six to eight weeks to heal, so when the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope reported that Chambers had suffered one while on loan at Middlesbrough, it was pretty worrying.

However, while the defender missed Boro’s 1-1 draw against West Brom on Tuesday, he’s set to be available for his loan team’s trip to White Hart Lane at the weekend.

Speaking ahead Saturday’s late kick off, Boro boss, Aitor Karanka, said that although Chambers isn’t ‘100%’, he should be okay and he’s back in training.

Well, that’s good news then.

The 22-year-old is having a decent time on loan at Boro. He’s getting regular football, having made 16 Premier League appearances so far, and plays 90 minutes every game.

It’d be a shame for him to miss over a month of value football and experience through injury.
