Hull City have been charged by the FA following their behaviour during their clash with Arsenal last weekend.

During the Gunners’ 2-0 win at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon, numerous Hull players were seen surrounding referee, Mark Clattenburg, after Kieran Gibbs fouled Lazar Markovic in the 55th minute and was booked as a result. The Hull players’ aim was obviously to pressure Clatts into giving a red card.

Hull have now been charged for failing to control their players or as they put it, failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.

This won’t come as great news for Clatts, who is reportedly looking for a move to China away from the “scrutiny” of the Premier League.

The usually okay-ish referee didn’t have the best game on Saturday considering he apparently apologised to the Hull manager and players at half time for allowing Alexis Sanchez’s ‘hand ball’, which was actually a perfectly legitimate goal.

However, saying this, Gibbs was probably lucky not to see red during the same match, so swings and roundabouts. I’m just glad the FA are cracking down on this surrounding of the referee in an attempt to influence decisions. It’s disappointing to see and shouldn’t continue.
