Everton are the latest club to be linked with a move for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The 23-year-old has been relishing the opportunity to play centrally recently, showing exactly what we always thought he was capable of. However, with this has come the unavoidable links with other teams.

The Ox is out of contract with Arsenal in under 18 months and admitted back in October that, at the end of the season, if he wasn’t getting more game time, he’d have to consider his options.

“There comes a time in your career where you have to re-evaluate things and think: ‘Is that going to be here or elsewhere?’” Alex said.

“As a footballer, you want to play every game. Me being myself, I’m not happy when I’m not playing.

“There is going to come a time in my career, and I think I’m approaching that, when I do need to be getting more regular football.”

Manchester City reportedly have their eyes on him but while he’s been developing well over the past month or so, especially compared to the rest of the squad, it’s doubtful that they could offer him more game time than Arsenal. They could offer him more money, though.

Everton, on the other hand, are now also being linked by The Mirror, and are far more likely to be able to make the Ox a regular starter.

Obviously, it’s up to the Ox what he does but at the moment he appears to be doing well at Arsenal. I hope he perseveres.
