Arsenal and Manchester United are said to be tracking Inter Milan defender, Jeison Murillo, according to a report in Tuttosport.

Murillo, 24, plays as a centreback with the Italian giants after signing for them from Granada in 2015 at a cost of £6.8m

Inter are said to be keen to tie the player down to a new, long-term deal, aware of the interest from Arsenal and United. Arsene Wenger is said to have watched the player over the past few months.

With 19 appearances in Serie A this season, Murillo has started all but five league games for Stefano Pioli and it’s not hard to see why. His stats this season aren’t quite as good as Laurent Koscielny’s but outdo Shkodran Mustafi’s on a number of metrics.

This is not the first time that Arsenal (or Manchester United) have been linked with the player. They allegedly opened talks for him back in the summer.

At that time, the price mentioned was €18m.

Inter Milan are currently’ fourth (ha) in Serie A, 18 points behind leaders, Juventus, who are 10 points clear of Wojciech Szczesny and Roma in second place.

It’s hard to know what will come of this rumour because so much needs to line up for a deal to happen. Certainly one to keep an eye on, though.
