Enjoying a good season on-loan at Middlesbrough, Calum Chambers was asked a few questions about Fantasy Premier League ahead of Boro’s home fixture against Everton today.

The 22-year-old has been part of a solid team at the Riverside, who have earned seven Premier League clean sheets this term: the same as parent club Arsenal.

The switch to Boro came as a surprise but was understandable, especially given the fact that he is eager to play on a regular basis. His defensive performances have continued to improve with more minutes and top flight experience under his belt, so it’s not a surprise that 210,000 fantasy team managers have chosen him as part of their squad.

His centre-back partnership with Ben Gibson has been significant in allowing Aitor Karanka’s team to defend with a defensive mentality whilst posing a genuine threat on the counter-attack.

Unsurprisingly when asked about who he’d chose from the current Boro squad in his fantasy team, he picked his defensive partner.

I’d have to go for GibsonGibbo [Gibson], my centre-back partner,” Chambers replied. “He’s got a good defensive record and he’s playing really well, has been all season so he’s a great addition to your team.

They’ll be hoping for another impressive defensive shift with an in-form Everton side up next. When prompted for a message to those with him in their respective sides he said: “Keep the faith. Keep the faith. I think our defensive record is pretty good so keep the faith and keep playing me I’d say.

Provided he plays, we’ll have a loan watch piece on Chambers’ individual display against Everton up on the site this weekend.
