Krystian Bielik has told his manager at Birmingham City that hes ready to be called upon whenever he’s needed.

The Pole gave an interview immediately after his side had won at Wolves on Friday and he was absolutely buzzing about life in the Championship.

Now, speaking to the official Birmingham website, he has carried on where he left off on Friday.

“It was a massive experience for me, I never expected that the Championship was like this,” he said.

“In the youth teams with Arsenal it’s not like here.

“I have played with boys, here you just fight with big lads, you could see that with every fight, every single jump for the ball – they are like warriors, big, massive, stronger than me – but that doesn’t mean I am worse than them. I felt really good.

“They are not much, much stronger than me. It’s good that I am tall, you have to think about it and be smart with your body position and reading of the game. If you are not stronger you have to be faster than them.

“But I think I am a really good player, I can play in the air and I think that’s OK for me, I helped my team on Friday and I am really happy.

“I hope the gaffer trusts me and if he needs me he knows I am ready.

“It was my second game in the Championship and I want to play more, and I’m just waiting for my chance. I really love it.”

Next up for Gianfranco Zola’s men in a massive game against Leeds on Friday night. Bielik has impressed enough to show that he could be given a start but it’s not yet clear if he will be trusted just yet. He is only 19, remember.

The sides are currently separated by 18 points in the table, with Birmingham in 14th place and Leeds fourth, and it is going to be a tough one for Zola and co. Although they have only lost two games more than Leeds, they are drawing far too many – 10 to Garry Monk’s 4. The game is also likely to see goals. Leeds have scored 46 this season while conceding 34 in 34 games. Birmingham 36 and 49 in the same number. Score draw, anyone?

Birmingham City v Leeds kicks-off at 7.45pm and will be shown live on Sky Sports 1.
