According to a report from Spanish outlet, Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are still determined to sign Hector Bellerin despite the 21-year-old only signing a new six-and-a-half-year extension in November.

Mundo Deportivo claim that the La Liga giants are still eager to fix their problems at right-back and they believe Bellerin is the man for the job.

Bellerin originally signed for Arsenal from Barcelona’s youth academy in 2011 but the Spaniard made his loyalty to the Gunners clear by signing a new, long-term deal last year, keeping him in north London until 2023.

Not only would Barca be foolish even approaching Arsenal over a deal for the right-back considering he’s decided where his future lies, it would be pretty embarrassing. I have no doubt that there isn’t any amount of money that would get the Gunners to part with Bellerin right now.

Barca aren’t stupid. Annoying, sure, but not stupid. They’ll know that they have no chance of getting him so the report is most likely bogus.

Even if they want him, they know they can’t have him. Not yet, at least.
